Escape Ipswich - Escape Room FAQs

We’ve chosen some of our most frequently asked questions about our Escape Rooms, so you’ll have a better chance of understanding what we’re about and feel confident when you come to book your room. If what you’re looking for isn’t mentioned here, we may have answered it on our FAQs page.

What are Escape games?

If you’re unsure what an escape room is, then hopefully our answers here will you understand a bit better. An Escape Room is a team-based game where a group of people, up to six are locked in a room with a group of friends and you must find and then solve some puzzles and clues so you can get out.  You will have 60 minutes to do this.

Why is it so popular?

Escape Games are popular with students, corporate teams, friends and those out to celebrate important events. It’s a way great way of identifying skills for corporate teams, and for celebrating birthdays and first dates for everyone else, or if you’re a student, for getting away from the laptop for an hour with your peers.

Is there an age limit?

There’s no age limit to joining in at Escape however, we would naturally exercise some caution if you choose to bring someone along who’s under the age of 10 because it can be a little challenging at times – even for the adults! If you do bring children with you who are over the age of 16, we’d ask that they’re always accompanied by an adult.

What if I have claustrophobia?

You’ll be relieved to know the rooms aren’t that small and are in fact much bigger than you’d think. We can, however, leave the rooms open if you’d prefer rather than actually locking them, and you can always leave the room whenever you need to.

How many people can go in the room?

We usually suggest that you have no more than 6 otherwise it gets a bit crowded in there and you want space to get around the room easily and quickly while you search for clues. In order to enjoy the game more, we’d suggest you have at least 3 of you, otherwise it can be a bit lonely in there!

How much time is required?

You’ll need to set aside an hour to get around the room itself, and then we’d also suggest you add another 30 minutes at the beginning so we can debrief you beforehand.
